Analyze and advocate for policies and legislation affecting regional land use and advocate for water quality.
Identify, conserve and protect spaces most crucial to the health of our neighborhood, river and watershed.
Utilize a Hydrological Functional Approach to protect and improve our Green Spaces and watershed capacity so as to maintain/manage its natural flow.
Utilize our Green Acres certification status to conserve and sustain open space in our region.
ER/AK Watershed Mission and Vision:
The goal of the Elizabeth River/Arthur Kill Watershed Association is to enhance the quality of life in and around the watershed for all of its natural and human residents by promoting the thorough investigation, impartial evaluation, and effective removal of threats to the watershed. It is the intention of the Association to accomplish these goals through independent research, monitoring, public information and education, sustainable restoration projects in cooperation with state, federal and municipal authorities.

Work collectively to educate and inform our residents to improve their family’s health and quality of life.
Work with respect and dignity for healthy family, healthy home and healthy neighborhoods.
Build long term capacity by developing a community based delivery system in the region to increase awareness and change attitudes/ behaviors of residents towards home hazard reduction, and ongoing evaluation and clean up techniques for their home and property.
